Patient care at OPVES is always approached collaboratively. We will consult with you, the referring veterinarian, and your client, the pet owner, to ensure your patients receive the best care. Our outstanding team is comprised of board-certified and specially-trained doctors with experience in multiple areas, including cardiology, oncology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and surgery.
We will prioritize the admission of patients you transfer to us for care in an attempt to minimize their waiting time in our lobby. Emergency cases with life-threatening injuries or critical illnesses who arrive after your patient may be treated before them at the discretion of our doctors.
We do not offer your patients routine veterinary services such as vaccinations, heartworm medication, flea and tick prevention, or prescription food refills.
If we have questions that pertain to your hospitalized patient(s), we will call you. We aim to keep you involved with direct communication as much as possible to ensure a smooth transition back to your care.
We provide clients with home care instructions upon discharge and are also able to email them a full copy of their medical record if they prefer.
We will fax or email your office a copy of your patient's medical record and diagnostic results upon discharge.
Please visit our pet emergency and critical care page for more information.
Please call us prior to transferring your patient so that our doctors can work with you to develop the appropriate treatment plan. We appreciate this to ensure direct communication and get input from you prior to your client's arrival.
If applicable, please send the following items with your client:
