DVM, Residency-Trained in Small Animal Surgery
Connor Pyne
Dr. Connor Pyne is a small animal surgeon at Overland Park Veterinary Emergency & Specialty. Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Pyne spent his childhood working alongside his parents at their family-owned veterinary clinic, where his passion for veterinary medicine first began.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Missouri–Columbia (Mizzou), where he also worked at a swine farm, a cat genetics laboratory, and Mizzou's Small Animal ICU. Through Mizzou's early acceptance program into the College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Pyne developed a strong interest in small animal surgery and contributed to several research projects.
Following veterinary school, Dr. Pyne completed a rotating internship at Oregon State University and a small animal surgical internship at Louisiana State University before joining Mission and Overland Park Veterinary Emergency & Specialty as a Small Animal Surgical Resident. After successfully completing our rigorous three-year surgical residency program, he joined the OPVES Surgery team as a full-time attending surgeon, where he is committed to providing advanced surgical care for pets throughout the Kansas City region.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Pyne enjoys spending time outdoors, binge-watching his favorite TV shows with his four pets—Louie, Sampson, Mildred, and Porter —and planning his upcoming wedding with his fiancée, fellow veterinarian Dr. Madison Davis.
